In the current recessionary climate, now more than ever SMEs need the assistance of an experienced non-executive director or mentor, to enable them to trade through. Also, if you have a business idea you will need advice from a committed professional advisor.
We at WGN have over thirty five years experience in advising start-ups and early stage companies develop into fully fledged business organisations, creating employment and stakeholder and shareholder value. We recognise that such companies not only find it difficult to find advisers whose expertise, experience and contacts can make them valuable added-value parties. Also we recognise that in the early stages when a great deal of hands-on assistance is required, these companies are often unable to pay the going rate on a time-cost basis. Therefore, since the early 1970s, in appropriate cases, we have "put our money where our mouth is" and have been prepared to roll-up our fees to be paid if and when the business we are assisting is in a position to do so. Of course, as starting a business or developing an early stage business is highly risky, often necessitating the raising of equity and loan finance - a very difficult and time consuming process! - many will not survive. Therefore our approach could be termed "quasi venture capital" as we rely upon the winners making up for those that sadly do not make it, by subscribing at the outset for a minority equity stake in the company we are assisting.
Thirty five years later we are still going strong and we are proud to have assisted more companies and teamed up with some tremendous people on the way.
If you feel we can assist you, please feel free to post a query through Legal & Financial 100. And, by the way, we do "normal" accountancy work as well!
